① Casey was out of town over the weekend, and Mom doesn't have a car, so she couldn't make it to Saturday's breakfast. This made me pause and ponder, and realize that asking everyone to come to Burien every week might be a pain in the lower spinal region.
Thus, the weekly breakfast has been re-designed. Like a sports team, half the weekly breakfasts will now be "on the road" — maybe closer to where you live — and the other half will be on my home field, at Little Pat's in Burien.
You're always invited to every Saturday's breakfast, but if you're coming, please check the schedule to make sure you're at the right restaurant at the right time on the right morning.
② It's been almost two months since I skedaddled to Seattle, and still I haven't started looking for work. Hey, I've never been a responsible adult — why start now?I'll start looking for a job soon, though, so if you know anyone who's hiring, please tell 'em I'm an excellent office flunky.
③ Well, it's been a whirlwind of adventure so far. After landing here, I stayed with Casey and Mom for a week and a half, until I found a craptastic place of my own. Since then I've hung out with Carl & Kathy, Casey, David & Keum, Greg & his wife (whose name I've forgotten, sorry; I really do need to create a family spreadsheet), Mark my nephew, Mark my old friend, Mom certainly and of course, and a few other old friends y'all don't know.
The standing invitations are still standing — breakfast every Saturday, and movies monthly — but I'm open to almost anything, especially if you're buying, or if food is provided. I'm far easier to see than your doctor; just reach out and ask.
Since it's been a while, let me remind you that I'm sorta anti-social by nature. Always happy to see family and friends, but I'm at my best in small gatherings, where it's me-plus one or two people. If it's me-plus more than that, I become me-minus.
At the big family picnic in a few weeks, I'll probably be shell-shocked by seeing so many people, but I'll be there, hope you'll be there, and I'm looking forward to it.
