An invitation to the Frye

Museums are fun, and culture isn't just for yogurt!

Now that I'm sorta settled in Seattle, I'm going to get out of my recliner and start going on field trips — and you're invited. Starting with...

The Frye Museum on First Hill charges no admission fee, which makes it my favorite museum in Seattle, though I've never been there.

I'm going to the Frye on Thursday morning, September 15, arriving at about 11:30. If it sounds like something you'd enjoy, you're very invited to join me. You could talk me into a meal afterwards, especially if you're buying.

The Frye is at 704 Terry Avenue, at Cherry Street. Their website says parking is free, but you couldn't pay me to drive there. I'll take the bus, of course.

There's easy transit access through routes 3, 4, 60, and the streetcar. If you're coming via Link, I'd suggest getting off at the Capitol Hill station, and then taking a #60 southbound bus. Or use Metro's trip planner.

Please let me know if you're coming (else I'll just walk into the building and start staring at the art).

Same as the Saturday breakfasts, if nobody responds or shows up, no problem, and no hard feelings, and I'll have a marvelous time seeing the museum alone.
