Hello, anyone who happens to drop by. I haven't had much to say lately, so I'll just say I'm still looking for a job, but not looking very hard, and there's nothing to report.I want a job I can be proud of, not just another paycheck, so I'm being kinda picky. There's only one application circulating with my name on it, because there's only one job I want.
If I don't get that job, then I'll start looking again, but for now I'm just enjoying the fine Corinthian leather on my recliner, and streaming lots of old movies, because new movies generally suck.
Here are some movies I've seen recently in my recliner, and recommend…
• Creation of the Humanoids (1962)Silly title, but it's enjoyable sci-fi.
• D.O.A. (1949)
Noir drama — Who killed me?
• Duel (1971)
Bonkers thriller about a truck driver on a rampage.
• Impact (1949)
"In this world if you turn the other cheek, you'll get hit with a lug wrench."
• Independence Day (1996)
Those darn space aliens.
• Lady in the Death House (1944)
Old-style melodrama, thoroughly ridiculous but it's a hoot.
• The Man Who Cheated Himself (1950)
Classic noir, filmed in San Francisco.
• The Relic (1997)
A pure popcorn monster movie.
• Shock (1946)
Vincent Price, with a great nightmare sequence at the beginning.
• Spider Baby (1967)
Cheap horror but fun. Remember, "Ralph is allowed to eat anything that he catches."
