Here what's up for me in the next week. Anyone who knows me or wants to is invited to anything on the list. Just let me know and away we'll go...
• Please RSVP by the day before.
• All events are 'Dutch treat'.
• Please remember the basics of Doug.
• And don't forget the standing invitations!
Thursday 11/7 is freebie day at most of the city's museums, and I'll be at the Museum of History & Industry, being all industrious and historical.
Saturday 11/9 is undecided — should we see a play, The Caucasion Chalk Circle at UW's Meany Hall ($10), or attend a free classical concert at the Chapel at the Good Shepherd Center, in Wallingford. Might do either, can't do both, so what's a fella to do?
Sunday 11/10, is good citizenship day, so I might join the Green Lake Litter Patrol. Coincidentally, that would leave me within walking distance of breakfast at Beth's afterwards.
Monday 11/11, a guy who's studied Woody Guthrie is giving a talk with a singalong, and it's free. This land was made for you and me, so I'll be there.
Tuesday 11/12 is Scrabble night at The Missing Piece. It's free, but it's a cafe, so you ought to buy a cup of coffee or something.
Wednesday 11/13, there'll be a lecture about bonkers or potentially offensive stuff that's owned by local museums, but never put on display.
And of course, any time I'm both bored and hungry, I'm headed out to eat.Speaking of eating, my big discovery last week was Geraldine's Counter in Columbia City. The place has cool vibes, friendly staff, a delicious breakfast casserole, and reasonable prices. Recommended by the fat weirdo!
OK, that's my life. It's not quite an "open book," but it's a website, updated weekly on Tuesdays.
