Here what's up for me in the next week. Anyone who knows me or wants to is invited to anything on the list. Just let me know and away we'll go...
• Please RSVP by the day before.
• All events are 'Dutch treat'.
• Please remember the basics of Doug.
• And don't forget the standing invitations!
Wednesday 11/13: There'll be a lecture about bonkers or potentially offensive stuff that's owned by local museums, but never put on display.
Thursday 11/14: Murdering the Devil (1970) at the Beacon: — "A subversive anti-rom-com that coolly cuts male chauvinism down to size and luxuriates in female pleasure..."
Friday 11/15: Breakfast at Little Pat's.
Sunday 11/17: Title, time, and location to be announced, for our monthly movie.
Monday 11/18: In concert at Renton High School, it's the Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra, and it's free.Tuesday 11/19: A free lecture titled "Homelessness and the Meaning of Home," at Jack Straw Cultural Center.
Also, my doctor says I need to eat out more often, so you're invited to join me for breakfast or lunch at a cheap restaurant.
Speaking of eating, my big discovery last week was Bebop Waffle Shop in West Seattle. It's a little bit hoity toity, but they make a fine waffle with splediforous maple butter, and the prices don't draw blood.
And there goes another week of having a blast in retirement. Come blastin' with me if you wish!
