That's why some of this week's post is a rerun from last week's post.
Here what's happening, and family, friends, acquaintances, and anyone who knows me or wants to is invited. Just let me know, and away we'll go.
• All events are 'Dutch treat'.
• Please remember the basics of Doug.
☼ Art!
"Going Home" looks like it'll be a worthwhile exhibit, and I'm running low on culture, so it's time for either art or yogurt.
☼ Bus!
There's no better way to see the city than out the window of a bus. My next excursion will be on the #11, which climbs up Capitol Hill and comes down to Lake Washington.
☼ Film!
Secrets and Lies
(1996) is playing at the Beacon on Rainier Avenue. Haven't seen it, but filmmaker Mike
Leigh has never disappointed me. The movie is British and not Disney.
☼ Food!
Upcoming ordinary eats will be at Burgermaster in the U-District, and George's Polish Deli on Capitol Hill.
I'm
eager to try some extraordinary eats, too —
borscht, chicken gizzards, frog legs, Hawaiian cuisine, hossenfeffer,
kishka, lengua
(tongue), pho, piroshki, pizza with anchovies, pork brains scrambled
with eggs, scrapple, turtle soup, Welsh rarebit, and wilted lettuce
salad are on my menu.
Also, Ethiopian food is terrific, and it's been too long.
☼ Picnic!
One fine day when it's not raining, I'll bring a sandwich and corn chips, maybe a Diet Pepsi, and lunch among the ruins at Comet Lodge Cemetery.
There's also a firepit social at Pier 62 (weather permitting) on Saturday.
☼ Walk!
I'm
trying to take a substantial walk once weekly, rain or shine or snow. This week, it'll be at Duwamish Waterway Park, near Georgetown.
☼ et cetera!
If you're
planning something or going somewhere, and you'd like to be accompanied
by a fat man with flatulence, I'm that guy. All invitations will be
cheerfully considered, possibly even accepted.
